Automated Test Equipment (ATE)

If you are manufacturing products and running production lines then you know the importance of being able to validate your product to ensure it not only performs as expected and meets internal quality standards, but also complies with any regulatory requirements. Access to test cycle times, measurement data and test thresholds provides a wealth of data which can be analysed in future to assess performance and trends which may give early indication of manufacturing variation.

Testing is in our DNA at Avazia – so it makes sense that our test rig, load box and ATE design & build services are one of our most popular offerings.

Automated Testing

Automated testing increases efficiency by allowing faster test execution, improves repeatability by reducing human error and can make laborious and complicated testing painless.

Unlike traditional approaches, our service focuses on seamlessly integrating measurement hardware, software platforms, brought together with simple but elegant custom user interfaces. This synergy ensures products undergo thorough scrutiny, reducing manual oversight and human errors.

We streamline testing processes, resulting in consistent and repeatable outcomes. For businesses, this translates to enhanced product quality, faster testing times and therefore optimised production outputs.

Test Formats

Our ATE systems can support multiple formats of testing, including the following:

  • Functional Testing: Test each unit produced for validation of functionality ensuring operational integrity
  • Parallel Testing: Maximise throughput and efficiency for testing high volumes by testing multiple units simultaneously.
  • End of Line Testing: Reduce the failures in the field. Validate products before they are shipped and packed with a final quality check.
  • Sequential Testing: When testing must be conducted in a defined order and sequence - ensure no steps are missed and capture anomalies and failures at each stage.

Test Equipment Selection
& Build

Avazia understands that selecting the right test equipment and instrumentation for the tests your product requires is paramount.

Based on your test requirements, we can select all the test equipment required to achieve the performance and accuracy you need.

Owing to electronics and hardware design background, if no suitable existing test equipment exists, we have the possibility of designing and developing it as a custom device tailored to your needs.

We build all of our ATE systems in-house in the UK, and oversee all design and development.

Our engineers have electronics design experience gleaned from years of working for and alongside highly distinguished companies within the industry.

Our electronics design capabilities cover everything from precision analogue measurement circuits to high-speed digital designs - and everything between, including wireless and wired communications interfaces, and power electronics.

Our circuits are designed with the customer and final product in mind - whether it be design for performance or cost optimisation, or any other target, we work alongside you to achieve what’s right for you.

PCB Design

After circuit design, we move toward the next step – recreating that circuit on a PCB.

We are pride ourselves on designing PCBs which work exactly as the original circuit design intended, whilst also meeting space and packaging constraints and any other requirements which may be specific to your product. We apply care and consideration to every component and track placement.

Throughout the process you can also be sure that we have our mind on the things others so often forget, such as signal and power integrity and the challenging demands of producing an EMC-friendly end-product by reducing emissions and increasing immunity to external interference.

Embedded Software

Modern electronics seldom seem to be without an element of embedded software.

Avazia has experience of writing all manners of embedded software for a vast range of microcontrollers.

Recent projects include code written in C (and some inline Assembly for optimisation) for Espressif’s ESP32, and a variety of other 32-bit microcontrollers such as the STMicroelectronics STM32 and Microchip PIC32 series.

These projects have included features such as WiFi connectivity, high-speed data logging, motor control, SD card memory access and dedicated web interfaces and have used real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS.

Prototype Development

Before going to production, you need to know that your design works as you and your stakeholders want it to. A key part of this validation process is the development of prototypes.

We provide cost-effective prototype design and build services, which is critical when working to a budget and and where a limited batch of prototypes (or perhaps only one!) is being produced.

With expertise in both design and manufacturing we are a perfect fit for customers looking for products designed to be commercially viable at the same time as including considerations for quality, standards and regulatory compliance.

Electro-Mechanical Assembly

Avazia offer full electro-mechanical assembly services. Our turnkey assembly services encompass all aspects of the build process including the procurement of components, manufacturing PCBs, cable assembly and ‘box build’ assembly.

Years of experience in high-volume production environments allow us to supply your product built to a high-standard, fully tested and packaged ready to supply to your customer.

Allow us to provide you with fast, efficient and cost-effective solution tailored to your production needs.

Enclosure Design and Machining

Most electronic products require some form of enclosure. Using fully up-to-date 3D CAD software, Avazia can design the ideal enclosure for your requirements.

Whether a small ABS plastic enclosure with simple cut-outs for indicators, or a large sheet-metal formed enclosure we can help.

We also know how important it is that your product looks good - we design custom screen-printed graphics and also polyester graphic overlays (which can incorporate buttons and indicators) to make your product stand out.
